GM climbing back to the top?
I read a report today that the once top automaker General Motors is making impressive strides. GM has posted its first profit since 2007 and its a big one. GM earned 865 million dollars, with sales up 40% and that’s just for the first quarter. Apparently when GM was tilting towards belly up they decided to do something right and that was make better cars apparently. So a few billion dollars in bailouts later and some recovery time was all that Americas top automaker needed to turn things around. I must say it’s about time but with them around for so long why’d it take this long for them to learn how to make decent cars. I would still choose a foreign car over a GM as I prefer most of the looks with the exception being the Camaro. I’m just glad to see that one of Obama’s projects has panned out as he was criticized so much for giving them more money when they could fail and instead he’s turned it back into a profitable business for the United States.
