Israel Storms Boat, Slaughters "Innocents"

Israeli special forces; yesterday in the pre-dawn descended from helicopter and onto a boat carrying peace activists and supply’s to Gaza. What took place after they landed on the boat is disputed by both the Israeli military and the activists. Israel has had Gaza blockaded by land and sea since the 2007 hamas terrorist group political takeover. More recently ships filled with supplies and activists have been trying to reach Gaza from Turkey. Israel had issued statements and warnings to both the ship in question and all flotillas trying to reach Gaza, saying “you will not be allowed to reach the shore”.

Aljazeera had a reporter on the ship, and you can clearly see several Navy ships flanking both sides and you could also hear small arms fire. The Special Forces ended up opening fire on the “innocent’s”after several of their men were injured. The so-called innocents were apparently stabbing at the commando’s with knives and sticks and trying to take their weapons; according to Israel. Of course the activists are saying they were all completely unarmed and innocent. Either way and whoever is correct, over 10 still died in the mayhem that took place after.

An Israeli minister has already apologized for the shootings and issued a statement saying that is not what they had intended by the pre dawn boarding. I’m not sure what they could have really anticipated by sending fully armed masked special forces onto a boat, but using that much force; to me indicates that the “innocents” were known to be armed. The boat was reportedly slowing so that things could be better filmed in the day light but Israel struck in the night.

In my opinion; and feel free to disagree, but Israel has every right to deny aid to Gaza. Gaza is being run by Hamas a known terrorist group, a group which constantly provokes Israel. Israel has already made it fully known that Gaza is blockaded and no one can use their water ways to access it. This ship carrying the 600 activists knew that and proceeded anyway with the intention to violate Israels blockade. I feel that Israel would have been just to take it as far as they wanted to prevent the ship from reaching shore, to include sinking it. I’m not crazy by any means, but these people were defying a country to aid a segment of land that is not their issue and they did so knowing they would be thrusting themselves in harm’s way, they certainly should not bitch for Israel acting upon its warnings.
