Scare tactic “journalism”

This is an ATF picture of a WA(Western Arms) GBB M4 it is called by the media and the ATF, a machine gun. What you are looking at is an Airsoft gun manufactured to shoot 6mm plastic bb’s for sport at under 400 feet per second. The ATF seized these at a Tacoma Washington port, and completely disassembled them and put in a myriad of upgrades that cost I’m sure thousands of your tax dollars to get this to shoot one live round. I thought a machine gun was a belt or box fed rapid fire weapon? The ATF defines a firearm as anything that can be made to fire one round. The ATF got this Airsoft Gun to fire one round and the round caused the Airsoft Gun to blow up. So the ATF had what they needed to seize them, and they destroyed 10,000 dollars worth of sales. These weapons complied with the Governments requirements to be imported into the United States.

The article linked below is a Tacoma news site that never calls the Airsoft guns, Airsoft guns, they refer to them only as Machine Guns, and say that they were labeled as Toys. They try to deceive you into thinking that illegal arms are being imported, when in fact its just a sport rifle being imported for the sport.

Airsoft guns are replicas of actual firearms but have no capability to fire live ammunition. By the ATF’s definition of a firearm they should ban all pipes and hammers as I can get a bullet to fire out of that.

Lesson here is do not always believe what you here and or see, especially in local news.
