Oil Executives wife goes for chocolate, gets IED

An oil executives wife in Houston Texas has been hospitalized for wounds she received after a box of chocolates exploded in her face. The box was sent to her and her husbands Houston home several weeks ago, but since they were out of town it was not opened until Friday night. The package was more like something you would see in Afghanistan, as it was a disguised IED. The bomb appears to have been homemade, and stuffed with tacks, nails and other sharp objects intended to wound.
The woman’s wounds were so severe that she had to undergo surgery to repair the damage. KTRK-TV reports that the blast was so powerful that shrapnel was embedded into the roof of the home. The same station also confirmed that the house is owned by an oil company executive, however they did not say which company. I’m sure we can all assume which company the husband works for. It says something, that people are so angry with this oil spill and the companies in general that people are sending exploding chocolates to the employees homes.
