Texan Gets Stolen Gun Back After 20 Years

Jul 30, 2010 by

Bruce Garner’s H&R 9 shot revolver was returned to him by the Kauffman County Sheriffs office Thursday morning. The revolver was stolen in June 1989 shortly after Garner moved to Terrell, Texas. The thieves were never caught but police traced the revolver back to Garner after it was found in a pawn shop. Garner says he’s astounded that he was able to get his favorite dispatch gun back. The 59-year-old leathersmith says he once used it to hunt and trap to make money.

It’s certainly not unusual for things to turn up after they have gone missing, but you’d think that after 20 years the odds would place it in the miracle category. The following list is of things that have gone missing for long periods of time; things that people have given up on only to have them returned.

  • A .45 Caliber handgun returned after 40 years
  • Violin stolen in 1979 returned to its owner
  • A garden gnome returned after 7 months
  • The sign over Auschwitz was returned after being gone for a month
  • A 1965 Ford Mustang was returned after 30 years
  • A Stolen Corvette returned after 37 years
  • A stolen dog returned after 7 years (still alive)

The list continues on and on dating back thousands of years in some cases and while most stolen items are never returned it is wise to always report your stolen items and keep them on the stolen list.

  1. Yup that's a Texan alright! So now he can put that gun back where it belongs – with his 30 other guns. I suspect he hides one of them in his beard for easy draw.

Ah so he is like Chuck Norris but instead of hiding a fist he is hiding his revolver in the beard.

  2. Chuck Norris is a conservative biggot so how about a new line of jokes that better fit the man Norris really is:

Chuck Norris can crush facts with his bare opinions.

Chuck Norris doesn't have to leap to conclusions. He just sits there and conclusions leap to him.

Chuck Norris thinks homosexuality is a choice, but his well oiled chest isn't so sure.

Chuck Norris went to the Virgin Islands and now they are "The Islands"
Chuck Norris pushes the world down while doing push ups
Chuck Norris' guns carry him for protection

I don't see how you can deny his manliness
