Flight Attendant Ejects!

Jet Blue flight attendant Steven Slater decided he had enough after an argument with a passenger so he bailed out. Slater had been involved in a verbal battle with a passenger and after arrival at John F. Kennedy airport he grabbed a beer from one of the carts and then deployed an emergency exit slide.

He was arrested at his home in Belle Harbor near Queens by the New York Port Authority and New Jersey Police for criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and trespassing. Thanks to his unusual reaction he is gaining quite the social following. Shortly after news of his arrest spread several Facebook groups were created in his honor with one page having nearly 3,500 followers.

Slater was working on JetBlue Flight 1052 from Pittsburgh when he got into an argument with the passenger, who was pulling down baggage from an overhead bin, the Port Authority said. The baggage the passenger was getting then fell and hit Slater in the head. Slater asked for an apology from the man who is unidentified but he did not receive it so an argument ensued.

Passengers on the airplane said that once the plane landed he grabbed himself at least one beer and then made his break for the emergency exit. Once he slid down the slide he went to his car. He has not been arraigned yet however it is expected today according to the District Attorney.

I feel for the guy actually as most passengers are dicks to female flight attendants and I’m sure males get it even worse. I would have been pretty steamed to get hit with a bag that a passenger was not supposed to be getting down anyway and then for him to not even apologize. Since Jet Blue has said it’s employees and the passengers were not in danger he shouldn’t see jail time hopefully.
