What The Fuck North Korea?

According to multiple sources “two people aged in their 60s were found dead allegedly as a result of yesterday’s shelling,” said a police spokesman in the nearby port of Incheon. As a result of the civilian deaths, President Obama has ordered the USS George Washington, a super carrier, into the region.

North Korea made an unusually stupid, although not surprising, attack on a disputed island that is home to South Korean Marinesand two civilians.. North Korea used artillery against Yeonpyeong firing 200 high explosive rounds which killed two South Korean Marines and injuring 20. Seoul went on high alert and scrambled its F-16′s to the island and returned fire with about 80 rounds of artillery from their 120mm howitzers. Seoul, rightfully pissed, threatened “enormous retaliation” if North Korea pulled any more shit.

The South Korean president, Lee Myung-bak said “indiscriminate attack on civilians” could never be tolerated and “enormous retaliation should be made, to the extent that [North Korea] cannot make provocations again.” The assault by North Korea is arguably the most severe since 1953 truce. The attack can be directly linked to North Korea because they admitted to it. Even though previous provocations were deadlier than today’s the amount of civilians who were injured and at risk shows North Korea is becoming bolder.

In a short statement carried by the official KCNA news agency, the North said the South had fired first – presumably in reference to a live-fire drill being carried out as part of annual military exercises. It said it had repeatedly warned the South not to go ahead with the drill. It is typical of North Korea to put blame on anyone but themselves for their actions so that they can receive much needed aide without appearing to beg for it. Even though this was a serious attack, reason enough for invasion, it is unlikely to escalate any further due to the enormous price that both sides would have to pay.

President Lee ordered his officials to “sternly respond” while pushing for them to remain calm and ensure no further escalation happens. The White House also condemned the attack as extremely “belligerent” as well as sending a message to North Korea letting them know that the U.S. and it’s 28,00 troops in South Korea remain committed to the defense of its ally. Most of the nuclear super powers came out against the attack with the exception of China; the North’s political ally.

North Korea is playing with fire as I’m sure the U.S. is looking for a reason to destroy their new enrichment facility and a few other targets. North Korea continually gets away with unprovoked attacks and while the U.S. says they’re committed to the defense of South Korea; they don’t do anything. While both the U.S. and the Korea’s don’t need another war there is only so much the international community can do before war is the last choice. Since the two Korea’s are still at war it would be justifiable considering all of the stunts the North has pulled in recent decades. It is nearing the time for the North Korean people to learn that they’re not the strongest military force on earth.
