Weiner Could Have A New Job

It seems that even when you’re down on your luck like the now former Congressman Anthony Weiner things can turn around. After accidentally sending a photo of his erect penis to Twitter, and more photos emerged, Weiner was forced to step down from public office. Now that he is no longer a public official and more of an infamous celebrity he has received a new job offer that pays more than his last. The one and only Larry Flynt offered Weiner a job as a porn star and said he’d pay him a 20% increase over his yearly Congressional salary.

In a letter published by the Huffington Post on Thursday, Flynt said “This offer is not made in jest,” wrote Flynt. “Just as we do not undertake insincere political crusades, we do not make insincere job offers.” Flynt even wrote that he’d ensure that Weiner received medical benefits equal to that of what Congress provided. Along with the amenities Flynt also offered to pay the Weiners’ moving expenses to Beverly Hills

“While this employment opportunity is being offered in large part due to your qualifications and clear passion for making a change,” Flynt wrote, “I feel that your unfortunate resignation is a prime example of unfounded political pressure and the hypocrisy that has invaded democracy in Washington, D.C.”

The job offer is probably quite sincere and there is no doubt in my mind that Weiner will decline it even though he clearly doesn’t mind being photographed naked for those other than his wife. While I’m sure his marriage will fall apart I am also sure that there is still a part of Anthony that feels he can run for office again and he should. The man wasn’t a horrible politician he just lacked judgement when it came to his personal life. Starting a new life in porn would only further prove his lack of judgement. He was supported by over 50% of his constituents during this whole debacle yet the media and the public shamed him out because he sexted and then panicked. What does it say about us as a whole that instead of caring about the real issues such as the wars, debt, jobs and hacking’s that we’d rather loathe a man for something most people under 40 have already done?
