Allegations Against Cain Seem Too Convenient

Nov 7, 2011 by

The many women who are now coming forward to allege that Herman Cain made unwanted sexual advances against him all have two things in common. The alleged misconduct all took place about 14 years ago and the evidence against Cain is only their word. If Herman Cain was as sexually aggressive as these women make him seem then why did his sexual advances seem to die off after he left the National Restaurant Association? The most recent accuser is the first to show her face as the others aren’t allowed to speak about the alleged incidents publicly. While Sharon Bialek does put a face on the allegations she doesn’t level any actual evidence against the top presidential candidate.

The newest accuser presents a similar story as the other faceless accusers. Mr. Cain in a position of power used that power to seek sexual favors in return for showing favoritism towards her. A common story in the male dominated business world. Ms. Bialek stated that after she was fired from the restaurant association’s education foundation she sook out Mr. Cain. She was fired for poor performance. She said that she had known Mr. Cain from association functions and had met him several times. She knew that he did not have control over the education foundation but was hopeful he could help her get her old job back or find a new one.

Ms. Bialek, currently represented by Gloria Allred, states that she isn’t seeking financial compensation from the whirlwind of television interviews that she is and will be conducting. She just wants Cain “to come clean.” However a look into her past shows that she stands to gain from her story. Ms. Bialek filed for bankrupcy in 2001 and has a lien on her house from 2009 for $5,176 in unpaid taxes. Another common story in the business world is that men are falsely accused of “sexual misconduct” by a woman (or in many cases women, see the Dominique Strauss Kahn case) who was in fact the aggressor. Ms. Bialek had lost her job and purposely looked to Mr. Cain to fix that for her. Is it possible that Cain is telling the truth when he says the allegations are not true? Could he have rejected Ms. Bialeks advances and slighted a woman who was already down on her luck?

We must remember that there is not one shred of proof that Mr. Cain was in fact sexually aggressive other than the four accusers. We must also keep in mind that these allegations are 14 years old and most of them were settled financially by the Restaurant Association and now they feel convinced to yet again accuse Cain of the same thing they received compensation for. That doesn’t mean that the allegations are not true but at the same time we don’t know that they are. The media makes it appear that the women are the victims but if Cain is in fact innocent then he has been fighting made up charges for over a decade and has still managed to be the number one contender for president. Either way the man knows what to do to get to the top of whatever it is he’s doing. I’m not convinced that he’d throw that away for the chance at sliding between someones legs. I’m also not convinced that someone who is financially struggling and doing a massive amount of media tours was so horrified by Cain’s “sexual misconduct.”

I’m not a political fan of Herman Cain but I am in favor of fair journalism and he hasn’t received a shred since these allegations were leveled against him. There are always two sides to the story and in this case stories. I’m a man that goes by the facts and someones word is just hearsay even if they have their friends sign affidavits that affirm what they said like Ms. Bialek did. Maybe Cain is a bit of a pervert but then again so was Bill Clinton and as was proved under his administration having sex isn’t a crime. Mr. Cain isn’t being accused of committing a crime after all he’s being accused of being aggressive. To me it seems like people are grasping at straws to bring the man down and I for one would like to know who tipped off the media to these dusty allegations.

Do you think the allegations against Herman Cain disqualify him from being President?
