Kim Jong-il Is Dead!

Dec 19, 2011 by

The infamous “Dear Leader” who ruled over the worlds most isolated nation has died at the age of 69 (His actual age is unknown). Kim had many illnesses that were largely hidden from the world but he apparently died suddenly during a Sunday morning train ride. North Korean state media reported that he died of a heart attack. He had been grooming his 27 (Exact age unknown) year old son Kim Jong Un to take over the isolated communist state and according to media reports his son is going to fill his fathers shoes. Many fear that his son will have to “prove himself” to the world in order to keep a grasp on the population that was brainwashed to love Kim Jong-il the most.

South Korea immediately put its military on guard against North Korea’s 1.2 million man army and President Lee Myung-bak spoke with President Obama and agreed to monitor the situation closely together. South Korea also convened a national security council meeting and said that they’re sharing and receiving intelligence on North Korea. The future of North Korea and its nuclear weapons is unclear and all eyes are on the North this morning as the transition of power takes place. Worries about the future are already driving Asian stocks lower.

He passed away too suddenly to our profound regret, said a statement carried by the North’s official Korean Central News Agency. The heart of Kim Jong Il stopped beating, but his noble and august name and benevolent image will always be remembered by our army and people. At the leadership of comrade Kim Jong Un, we have to change sadness to strength and courage and overcome today’s difficulties.

While his death came suddenly it was no surprise that his death was near and his son was to take his place. Having been in place since 1994 Kim baffled and infuriated world leaders on everything from nuclear weapons to the retrieval of war dead. His hilarious rhetoric, delusional ambitions and military provocations ensured that his regime became the most isolated in the world. As his people starved Kim and his family feasted on the finest of Western food, drank the finest wines and were secluded in multi-million dollar Western styled homes. It would be easy to say the world is a better place without Kim Jong-il if we didn’t know his equally crazy son was coming to power at the ripe age of 27.
