Thank you for visiting My Bloggity Blog and taking the time to read a post that doesn’t have to do with the normal stuff I post. I’m taking this time to ask you to register for this blog of mine for several reasons. The main reason is that by having people register it will cut down on the massive amounts of spam comments I receive which I believe I have currently moderated over 22,000 at the time of this post. That is an incredible amount of spam and sadly legitimate comments get sucked into the filter from time to time. The second reason I would like you to register is so that I can quickly and easily send out short emails letting you know there is a new post rather than having you sign up for three different services. Before I was using FeedBurner email subscriptions, RSS subscriptions and comment subscriptions. This eliminates the need for all of those things and once again takes a load off the server so my site loads faster for everyone.
If you’re a person that gets 5,000 emails a day and do not want one more from me don’t worry! In the settings after you login you can set your account to receive emails or not but you can still comment. Lastly it will allow me to give you access to future projects, posts and an insight to where this blog is going before everyone else as well as allowing me to do custom feature posts for my users. It’s something that I think is both a necessity for this blog and something that will take this blog a step further.
Registration is completely safe. An automated password is mailed to you via WordPress and you may change it at any time. Other users cannot email you or see your email address. Email addresses and passwords are stored securely!
