Don’t Touch My Porn Santorum

Like this guy hasn't clicked on the "bondage" tab more than once...

I should have seen this coming but with all of the other things to fight about in this year’s elections I took it for granted. Rick Santorum is declaring a new war which would, if he was elected, probably be about as ugly as the visualization of his Google search results. Rick, whose image was created out of gay porn, would do his damnedest to ban pornography in the United States. Porn according to Santorum is a ‘pandemic’ and “contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking.” Did he provide facts to back those claims? Of course not.

Rick’s main target is “hardcore” porn even though Rick nor his campaign have made any effort at all to define “hardcore porn” probably for fear of not gaining entrance to heaven after doing some “research” if you know what I mean. He is seeking a complete ban on this undefined material in every way possible. He’s so serious he even wants to ban its access by mail (no not email) which for the avid porn viewer getting porn via mail would be about as terrible as a power outage. He points to statistics, that are invisible, that he says show that pornography causes “profound brain changes in both children and adults”.

“The Obama administration has turned a blind eye to those who wish to preserve our culture from the scourge of pornography and has refused to enforce obscenity laws,” he writes. “While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum administration.

Let’s pause for just a second and ask ourselves how Rick can wage this war against something that he hasn’t seen? I mean wouldn’t his brain be forever changed if he watched it?

Is this another drum to beat to pull in the super conservative Christians or is this who Rick Santorum really is? The anti-choice, anti-porn, anti-gay, anti-birth control and anything else that isn’t socially acceptable in the 1940′s? I’m starting to think that this is the side of Rick that he’s been hiding a long time.

Things must be so great in the United States right now that at the top of Rick Santorums list of “things to do when I become President” is to ban pornography. Not to keep the economy on track, prevent terrorism, lower our debt and so on. In reality we’d probably go further into debt by adding a pornography task force to raid the homes of husbands and wives who are spicing up their sex life. Also what does this ban, ban? If I draw stick figures having a grand ol’ time but using a little rope does that mean I’m liable to go to jail? Who in their right mind would prosecute this? Super conservative federal judges appointed by Santorum?

The idea of an all out ban seems pretty laughable to me and the likes of Larry Flynt. “Whether it’s Newt offering $2 gasoline or Santorum wanting to ban pornography or whatever else he’s doing, they’re making these promises and these threats, and they’re really empty and meaningless,” (Hustler publisher) Larry Flynt told Yahoo News. “I don’t think he will be much of a contender if he gets the nomination, but at the same time I don’t think he will.”

“It’s sometimes easy to attack the adult industry, but ultimately it doesn’t work,” said Steven Hirsch, the founder and co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment, an adult film company that boasts millions of viewers every month.

I’d also like to point out that there is illegal pornography in the United States yet even that is difficult/impossible to remove from the vast spaces of the internet. Trying to ban all porn and even porn production in the United States would be one of the most futile things the government has ever attempted and yes I’m aware that there is a war on drugs. However there are a fair amount of Americans (whom probably are watching porn at the late hour I’m typing this) who feel that porn is the scourge of the Earth. That porn itself makes men unfaithful (oddly not women apparently) and that it causes men (yet again not women) to beat their spouses. Now I’ve seen my fair share of porn and I’ve oddly never wanted to hit anything after watching it unless “hitting” is some new teenage slang for masturbation.

So Rick Santorum don’t touch my wonderful spouse endangering, marriage ending, brain corrupting porn or I swear to that ass backwards god you believe in that I’ll show you some Santorum.

Should Rick Santorum ban all porn?
