Author Recommendation: Chris Kyle

As many of you know Chris Kyle was murdered on February 2nd along with another man as they were trying to help a veteran through various symptoms of PTSD. It’s incredibly difficult to be critical of a man who has done so much for America but it is especially tough after his death; thankfully Chris Kyle wrote an amazing book. I think the book takes on an entirely different tone now that Chris Kyle is deceased and to me it completely changed how I was interpreting the book. His death makes his words about life and death hit a little harder than...

Author Recommendation: Marcus Luttrell

Lone Survivor – I had heard about this book long before I picked it up to read and I had previously recommended it to friends purely based off of the reputation that this book has. An unflinching look into the mind of a Navy SEAL who arguably is one of the bravest men to ever serve the United States and the mission that took his friends from him. I had seen the news coverage of the mission that went to shit on that faraway mountain in Afghanistan that ended up taking the lives of 19 Special Operations forces and I like the rest of America...

Author Recommendation: Ben Coes

Updates I just finished Coup d’Etat and what else can I say? I really enjoyed it. All of his books are solid and this was no exception even though I had learned quite a bit of the plot from the sequel. I would however recommend that you read them in order. The only reason I skipped over Coup d’Etat was because The Last Refuge showed up before I could start it. Coup d’Etat gets high marks from me along with the rest of Ben Coes’ books. There are a lot of new authors out there but I doubt they can put together 3 books...

Author Recommendation: Nelson DeMille

Keeping with the spirit of good author/book reviews I’ve got another one for you. I have just finished two of Nelson DeMille’s novels since they were recommended to me by a friend. It’s not unusual for me to write about things that would piss the government off but it is unusual when I think writing a book review might make me disappear but I think that is more of a compliment to Mr. DeMille than it is a fear of the government. The two books I read were Up Country and Night Fall but for this review I’m going to stick...

Author Recommendation: Vince Flynn

Click here for updates The Last Man – After finally receiving my signed first edition from Premiere Collectables, a company I’ll never do business with again, I was able to begin reading the newest installment of the Mitch Rapp series. I’ve come to hold Vince Flynn to a higher standard than other thriller writers because his books are what got me reading again. Once I was a few pages in I knew that Flynn wasn’t going to disappoint with his 14th book and I was able to finish reading all 448 pages in roughly two days and it was pretty hard to...
