The Worldwide News section covers well worldwide news of course. From America to Zimbabwe and back you’ll find articles here that will keep you mind almost as sharp as if you had traveled to these places and witnessed the news firsthand.
Former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle was murdered on Saturday by a fellow veteran whom Chris and a friend were helping work through symptoms of PTSD at a shooting range near Dallas, Texas. Chris Kyle is well known as the deadliest sniper in American military history with over 150 confirmed kills but he was lesser known for his work helping veterans through his charity FITCO Cares which donates home workout equipment to emotionally and physically wounded veterans. Kyle served in every major battle of the Iraq war and was so effective that the Iraqi...read more
Click here for updates The President has proposed multiple new measures to “curb gun violence” that will need to go through Congress as well as executive orders that he signed during the press conference that will direct law enforcement to essentially do what they’re doing already. The President signed those orders with 4 children in the background who wrote letters to him about gun violence and school safety that all urged him to take action (I have a sneaking suspicion that their parents guided the pen on those letters)....read more
Click here for updates The war in Mali quickly turns into a quagmire: BAMAKO, Mali — In the face of fierce, all-night bombardment by the French military, Mali’s Islamist insurgents have hunkered down to fight again. Barging into some of the mud-brick houses in the battle zone and ejecting residents, they have sought to implant themselves in the local population and add to the huge challenges facing the French military campaign to loosen their grip on Mali. “They are in the town, almost everywhere in the town,” said Bekaye Diarra, who owns the...read more
The Ministry of Defence is bringing the British Armed Forces into the 21st century with the replacement of the Browning High Power 9mm pistol. Due to a dramatic increase in maintenance costs on the old pistols whose design dates back to before World War II and improvements in modern pistols the MoD is purchasing tens of thousands of Glock’s with some being immediately deployed to troops in Afghanistan where they are needed the most. The British tested seven different sidearm’s and the Glock came out on top which really doesn’t come as a...read more

I feel a tremendous responsibility to write this article though I am a little apprehensive. Thinking about the possibility of rising up against our own government is a frightening thing for many of us. I am not Johnny Rambo and I will be the first to admit that I do not want to die. The reason I feel compelled to write this, however, is simply because I don’t think the average American is equipped with the facts. I feel that a lot of...read more
With the fiscal cliff crisis now behind us the debate surrounding the Second Amendment to the Constitution is going to flare up again and the President has once again thrown his weight behind new measures to help stem gun violence in America. President Obama’s colleagues in Congress however aren’t drafting new measures and the solutions they’re pushing aren’t actually solutions at all. Gun control sounds like a novel idea especially after such a tragedy but when politicians jump on it so quickly it can be determined...read more
While the video’s description and ending aren’t very eloquent the point is clear – celebrities are stupid. After the Sandy Hook shooting quite a few celebrities made a video in order to “demand a plan” on gun violence. This PSA has prompted twitter logos, shirts and a website to be created all to get people to demand that the government act on gun violence in the United States. The video is pretty good at prompting you to think about gun violence with its black and white atmosphere and dreary tones but a majority of the major celebrities...read more
The idea of privacy today will be gone with the wind tomorrow now that the FBI has announced a new tracking system that will be able to find a “person of interest” in a matter of minutes. The Next Generation Identification (NGI) system is to be used to track down criminals or missing persons quickly but we already know that since 9/11 the FBI’s definition of “criminal” has gotten quite loose. NGI will use methods of identification similar to those previously only seen in movies and typically always reserved to a...read more
Missiles, men on the lam, money problems and Christmas are just some of the things that are making the news at the moment and there are several things in particular that I’ve been keeping my eye on. Maybe it’s because people think Doomsday could be right around the corner or maybe it’s all of the pot smoke coming out of Washington state now but there seems to be an uptick in world events recently and I thought I’d share the 5 that I found to be most interesting. North Korea’s satellite launch will likely lead to...read more
Will Syria use chemical weapons or not is a pretty common water cooler conversation at the moment and the general consensus is that the use of chemical weapons by Syria would be an incredibly stupid move but that raises the question then of why they’re allegedly readying their arsenal. The United States has made it quite clear that the use of these outdated and indiscriminate weapons would cross a “red line” and would likely lead to foreign military intervention at the hands of NATO so just what in the hell is Bashar...read more
