Well I’ve kicked HTC to the curb after owning one of their smart phones for nearly 2 years. Before I got my HTC Thunderbolt I was desperate for it because it was not the iPhone and was being touted as the best Android at the time; it wasn’t. I still love my Thunderbolt but it’s a love that someone has only after mastering its failures and beating the device at its own game. I beat its terrible battery life, I beat Verizon’s lack of updates and I beat Android Froyo but it took a lot of effort and I frankly couldn’t be happier that...

While attending an event at SXSW I was able to see quite a few developments in the area of technology. What I expected to see were things like the xi3 modular computer that is roughly the size of a Coke can but what I wasn’t expecting to see was something that I had just read about in Gun World magazine. TrackingPoint had a very busy booth at this event and it was easy to see why – they had guns and what looked like a video game to play. That “video game” was actually a simulation of what their scope and rifle platform is capable...
read moreApp Review: SwiftKey 3
When I’m going to pay for an application I always look for a free version and thankfully SwiftKey has one so that I was able to test it out before deciding to spend a few bucks. This review though will be on the full version only since it is what I use daily. The free version has an expiration date anyway. I have very few paid applications on my phone for one reason – most suck. I don’t like spending money for something sight unseen and with a lot of paid applications you don’t get to try before you buy and as a result I stay away....

My contract with Verizon is about to allow for an upgrade and while I’ve thought about dropping them it’s just not going to happen so I’m hunting down a new phone. As some of you know I’m the proud owner of an HTC Thunderbolt – a phone that Verizon and HTC proclaimed was their flagship and then threw it under the bus and never looked back. The phone is useable stock but the battery life is hilariously terrible and the constant lies from HTC about updates to the OS have left me looking at competitors for replacements. Sadly though I...

London – A knife wielding maniac was tasered outside Buckingham Palace after interrupting the changing of the guard ceremony with a 6 inch knife. The unidentified man broke through a police cordon on Sunday and slashed at officers before holding the knife to his throat. Police deployed Tasers and the man was quickly subdued but the video is quite dramatic. You can see one officer deploy his Taser but it appears to not affect the subject and he begins to slash at the officer when another one hits him from behind with yet another Taser....

Of all the apps that I have downloaded and continue to download on my Android phone there has always been one that continues to outlast any other even when switching ROMs. I send thousands of text messages each month and the messaging app built into Froyo, Gingerbread and ICS were never really worth using for any amount of texting. The lack of a good messaging app built in forced me to quickly track down a replacement and it hasn’t left my home screen in almost 2 years. GO SMS Pro is an app that has been downloaded millions of times from...
read moreBen Shapiro takes on Piers Morgan
I’ll be the first to say that I’m not a fan of Ben Shapiro or most of his thoughts on the path America should be on but I caught his interview with Piers Morgan that centered completely on guns and gun control and I enjoyed what I saw. Piers Morgan has had multiple figureheads on to talk about guns including Alex Jones and all of them have left a bad taste in gun owners’ mouths until this one. Ben Shapiro had no problem laying out his points and answering Piers’ questions intelligently and I enjoyed that he called Piers out on his...
read moreI Love Windows 8
I’m pretty sure that I’m in the minority when I make the above statement but I am likely one of the few who has had ample opportunity to explore Windows 8 on a new computer. I’ve seen a load of articles that have done nothing but criticize Windows 8 but nearly all of the sites writing those articles are so pro-Apple it’s almost hard to bear and as a result of those articles I quickly dismissed Windows 8 as a flop. To my surprise however Santa dropped off an Asus touchscreen laptop running windows 8 with the latest intel...

This is probably one of the coolest things I have seen on YouTube in a long while. It’s amazing to see how animals act in the wild and it’s even more amazing that this was caught on video.
read more3-D Printed Gun Doesn’t Last Long
Most printers just spit out sheets of paper that hold text and pictures from your email but some printers can actually spit out guns, well almost. I can already see the ATF scrambling to come up with some sort of software that doesn’t allow anyone without a FFL (Federal Firearms License) to use these printers to print weapons or weapon parts but for now you can use a 3-D printer to make firearms although that is still illegal without a license. The next drastic change in weaponry is upon us. A group of gunsmiths have successfully printed...
